IMM measuring machine for immediate inspection of components

Every second counts in manufacturing. The IMM measuring machine controls components directly on the line and delivers measurement results in less than two seconds. We at HURAS Stamping Automation combine high-resolution measurement technology with automated data evaluation for seamless quality monitoring without operator errors.

Fully automatic control in ongoing production

Manual inspections take time and often result in inaccurate results. The IMM operates independently, automatically detects each part, aligns it, and measures all relevant geometries in real-time. This secures consistent measurement results in every shift, avoids rework, and detects deviations immediately. At the same time, the IMM digitally documents all results, ensuring each part remains fully traceable. The solution was developed in cooperation with the company ZENTRON and is exclusively distributed by us, HURAS Stamping Automation, under the name HURASZEN in Europe.

Functionality of the IMM measuring machine

The IMM operates as a One Touch Inspection System using state-of-the-art image processing. You place the part on the measuring surface and start at the push of a button. The system creates a complete measurement image within seconds, detects contours, calculates dimensions, and automatically documents the results.

The system uses:

  • Autofocus for automatic adjustment of the measuring height
  • 20 MP camera with bi-telecentric lens for precise edge measurement
  • Pattern recognition for independent part alignment
  • Multiple view with up to five perspectives per cycle
  • Real-time data analysis with Cp/Cpk evaluation
  • Interfaces for PLC and robot integration

The integrated software manages component programs, measurement points, and tolerance limits. It automatically generates inspection protocols and graphical reports and allows export into existing QS systems or ERP environments.

How you benefit from using the IMM

Shortened inspection processes

An employee controls several measurements in parallel and reduces the inspection time per part to less than two seconds. This keeps your line productive, even with high volume.

Reproducible measurement results

The IMM completely eliminates operator errors. Every measurement is performed automatically, so you receive identical results at any time, regardless of experience or time of day.

Real-time process monitoring

The system reports the smallest deviations immediately and visualizes trends directly on the display. This allows you to intervene in time and prevent rejects before the next batch.

Digital traceability

The system automatically archives all measurement results and exports them as quality evidence. This facilitates audits and creates complete transparency for your customers.

Lower operating costs

Automated inspection cycles replace time-consuming manual controls. This saves personnel costs while simultaneously reducing the error rate in the manufacturing process.

Expandable manufacturing solutions

Through standardized interfaces, the IMM can be integrated into robot cells, conveyor systems or inspection cascades. This allows the system to grow with your production needs.

Typical application areas of the IMM

  • Stamped parts and contacts: Measurement of geometry, burr, and positional deviations directly after the stamping process for complete quality approval.
  • Turned parts: Inspection of concentricity, diameter, and cylindricity with optional turning module for comprehensive circumferential analysis.
  • Profiles and sheet metal parts: Comparison with CAD data or reference images for immediate good part evaluation.
  • Hybrid parts made of metal and plastic: Examination of mixed materials with variable lighting and precise edge detection.
